Finally I find a phone

I am totally digging my new phone. Looks great, tons of features and not a bad price either. Gotta thank LetsTalk.com for a great deal and quick turnaround and shipping. Also, switching 2 numbers from Verizon to Cingular couldn't have been simpler. Once I got the new phone and turned it on, the number switched right away. Now I just have to find a case for this thing, I'm afraid I might break the display if I keep it in my pocket. Now I'm off to find some FREE (as in beer) PROGRAMS.

1602 part deux

So I'm at the comic shop a while ago. Out of the corner of my eye I see a new 1602 on the shelf. Logically named "New World" it seems the story takes place right after the end of the first miniseries. I'm willing to patiently wait for a trade paperback of the whole story, so I don't pay much attention, not wanting to see any "spoilers". Now, I don't read the previews or the comics news sites, so I really didn't know much about it, until I found out that its written by Greg Pak, to which my intial reaction was that I was less likely to buy it. Yeah, I know its Marvel's story and characters, but I guess I'm just a Gaiman snob. I did find out, however, that Neil has given his approval for the work, so that raises the purchasability potential, but I'm still skeptical. Maybe I'll just read issue 1 right in the store before I decide.

Music Rentals Deconstructed

Ross Rubin writes a weekly column about digital entertainment for Engadget. This weeks column, Switched On: Fixed Fees and Diminishing Returns explores the value of subscription-based music services. Suggesting that the customer who receives the best value is the one who owns no music at all, he justifies, yet goes beyond, the tired complaints of CD-owners that wonder who would prefer to rent their music to owning it.

Although Yahoo Music is enticing, since it lowers the price point substantially, providing a more reasonable fee for the ability to discover RIAA music, I will shy away. Not just because there is no Mac version, but I have found plenty of other ways to find new music.

I am teh ROKR!

Sadly, I don't ROK.

Wake me when this has as much memory as a iPod, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, and a clue.
